Our History
From a small group of archers on the Trelowarren Estate to the club we are today - over three decades of Lizard Peninsula Bowmen.

1990
Club Founded
Our club was founded on the Trelowarren Estate, then known as the Trelowarren Archery Club.

1996
A New Home
Due to changes on the Estate, the club moved to a new field on the outskirts of Garras, generously purchased by members Keith and Jackie Harris. The club was renamed Lizard Peninsula Bowmen.

2002–2003
The Pavilion
Club members erected the present pavilion, designed by senior member Peter Smith.

2007
Owning Our Grounds
The club was able to buy the Garras field outright from Keith and Jackie Harris. Ownership now resides with four Trustees who are current club members.

2010
Planting Roots
During a very cold spell, approximately 500 trees were obtained from the Forestry Commission and planted by members. They have flourished and add a very pleasurable aesthetic to the club grounds.

Today
Still Going Strong
The club has grown considerably and boasts a healthy number of archers with ages ranging from 10 to over 80. Each year we host a two-day Summer Bonanza tournament, welcoming visitors from across the UK and beyond.
